9:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.

Our kindergarten program was designed to help bridge the gap between a small, private school setting and the environment at a larger elementary school. While our class size remains small (no more than 12 students) and is committed to high academic standards, the children also learn how to handle the extra responsibilities that come along with being at a “big school” such as walking to class by themselves, going through lunch line, etc.

With learning objectives derived from a cross-analysis of state requirements, our curriculum features a systematic phonics approach that gives children the skills to become strong readers. Hands-on and project-based learning for language arts, science, mathematics, social studies, art, and social-emotional learning provides extended opportunities for discovery. Some of the skills and concepts covered are: Letter Recognition, Initial Consonant Sounds, Long & Short Vowel Sounds, Blending Phonemes, Reading Comprehension, Creative Writing, Number Concepts 0-20, Addition & Subtraction, Ordinal Position & Patterning, Measurement, Time & Money, Prediction, Analysis & Experimentation and Multi-Cultural Awareness.
